Demetri Telionis is Frank J. Maher Professor Emeritus in the Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He was a student of William R. Sears at Cornell University where he received an M.S. in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering.
